Jamaica’s Tina Clayton strikes Gold in national junior record at the world under- 20 championships
Defending champion for the World Junior athletics championships in 100m Tina Clayton defends her title in sensational fashion as she broke the championship record and her own national under-twenty record.
Clayton won in a time of 10.5 seconds, which eclipsed the previous 10.6 seconds that she ran when she broke Brianna Williams’s under-twenty record at the Jamaica national junior trials.
Clayton’s teammate Serena Cole who is also her Edwin Allen’s High School teammate was second with a time of 11.14 seconds and Shawnti Jackson, the daughter of 2005 world 400m hurdles champion Bershawn Jackson, won the bronze medal in 11.15 seconds
