Shockingly, he voted to confirm Marco Rubio’s neoconservative pick for Secretary of State under Trump but opposed Tulsi Gabbard—one of the few politicians who stood with him against Hillary Clinton—for an intelligence role. Despite branding himself as independent, Sanders is a Democratic Party loyalist, a grifter exploiting progressive rhetoric to extract donations from the working class. Like Obama, AOC, and the Squad, he presents himself as a reformer while ultimately serving the system.
