many countries in Africa, the middle east, the Caribbean, and South America have been dealing with brain drain, due to low-pay jobs, violence, etc. Brain drain is particularly intense in sub-Saharan Africa, where the migration of young and educated workers takes a large toll on a region whose human capital is already scarce.
