Jamaican Shericka Jackson runs the third-fastest women’s 200m of all time at Jamaica National Championships.
The Tokyo Olympics bronze medalist in the 100m, 4x400m relay, who also won gold with the Jamaica 4x100m relay team clocked 21.55 seconds. This blistering time of 22.05 seconds puts her only behind Florence Griffith Joyner’s thirty-four-year-old record of 21.34 seconds and her compatriot Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah’s 21.53 seconds
Jackson also won gold in the 100m on Friday In a season’s best of 10.77 seconds, making her the double sprint champion.
“Honestly, I am shocked by the time,” said the Olympic bronze medallist. “I never expected to go that fast.
“I knew that I had something special in my legs but to run that fast… I’m just grateful.”
In the Men section of the 200m Andrew Hudson – who recently switched allegiance from the United States – won the men’s 200m in 20.10, beating 100m champion Yohan Blake and Nigel Ellis.
